I'm going to introduce a little bit about myself on this page and update every month, so that I can connect with you better and hope that you feel my artworks closer.
HARDY'S TWINS SERIES 23
HOW ARE YOU?
The weather has been weird and strange in NY lately. Hot like summer and cold like winter in one week!
It's been a while since I went out with my partner for fun last time - I has been staying in my studio everyday working on something for a long time without a break. I can finally hang out in NYC this week! We're going to Metropolitan Museum to see Cecily Brown's works and Mark Bradford's works at Houser and Wirth. Just for one day though...
HARDY'S TWINS 23 (2023)
acrylic and oil pastel on canvas
36 x 48 inches
Well, this "Hardy's Twins Series" has been iconic of my work.
I started working on small paintings first. I tried to make something completely different from this image at the beginning, but it did't go well, so made some changes without sketches. I found the atmosphere of the work is happy and creepy at the same time that's what made me interested to develop more for this series.
Last month, I made this series in 24 x 30 inches and the painting quickly found its home in Norway ( thanks, Sindre!) and I decided to work on even larger canvas this month. It took a long time to complete ( I worked on this work day and night everyday), and it's finally here.
Everyone has their own secrets that they never share with anyone.
I think that this painting is all about those secrets.
"Blur Face Series"
I have received multiple requests on this series this month (thank you, people for reaching me out) so I decided to make some more for this series again. Three paintings in 16 x 20 inches and one in 24 x 30 inches. One painting has gone quickly right after I released those paintings on my shop.
There are so many artists who make "portrait paintings" out there, and I never thought that I would make this type of paintings, but I just came up with this idea "what if the face is blur? That would be interesting in my own way" This series is all about the face and detail works. I think color combinations are always important too. I usually paint those blur faces in the end of the process and I feel some kind of pressure not to screw up the background. ( I can fix those details if I make a mistake, but it would take a long time to fix so I just want to avoid the situation.) Each painting has its story and I hope that viewers have their own understanding.
ART OBJECTS
Dog on skate board S2 / Hybrid Animal Series 5 (2023)
acrylic and collage on clay
I've made those animal sculptures before and most of all are sold, so made some more! Making those animal objects are so much fun! If you have any requests on my works sold out, please let me know! It is always nice to know what people are looking for, what make people happy.
OK, That is it for this month.
Thank you for visiting my shop.
Thank you for your time to take a look at my art works.
Wish you all the best and health.
SEE YOU SOON!
PEACE!
