MONTHLY NEWSLETTER - March '22

I'm going to introduce a little bit about myself on this page and update every month, so that I can connect with you better and hope that you feel my artworks closer.

This month, let me introduce new line MOOK by Macoon Design Studio and new original art objects.

MOOK by MDS introduces new pop and illustration line. I was looking for somewhere I can show my illustration works and interior goods that may not be considered as genuine art works. I studied design in Nagoya University of Art, and love to make something pop and cute as well as art painting and sculptures. Also, working on pop design and goods can give me a new prospect for my art creativity.

I prepared very affordable art prints which I originally painted some parts and digitally edited. There are 19 versions so far. Offers size of 11 x 14 inches and 12 x 16 inches ($12~$20). Enjoyed the process of digital editing because there are many things that I can't do with my hand on canvas. I understand that some people are looking for pop and light for their home decor and heavy layered paintings are a bit heavy to look at everyday. (Also art items are not so affordable.) Please take a look at new MOOK original art prints and hopefully you find something your favorite to add to your wall art gallery.

MOOK BY MACOON DESIGN STUDIO ORIGINAL ART OBJECTS

Dog on a Skateboard Series (KOTA, RINGO, and GOLD) on the left. I could see that many people visited my shop to take a look particularly art object page. (No.1 is "NO ONE") So I decided to make some more of those but this time more pop and less deep art vibes. I'm like a lot of people too, I like to visit some stores offers cute and weird stuff that I don't find anywhere. Even those are not considered as art product more like "cute goods." This time, I tried to make some more those items. Catchy, pop, and more affordable. I'd like to reach out people who are not normally interested in art and sculptures.

COME HOME SERIES

When I started sketching, I thought this was interesting idea and was excited about making these, but I immediately blamed myself why I thought I could make by hand. The process was extremely difficult especially I wanted make those logos look like hand writing ones not like wooden alphabet objects that machine made you can find at some stores. That was why I struggled a lot. But I wanted to finish at least 2 versions perfectly and grad the result in the end. This one on the left is original illustration version. The other one is all white in a wooden frame. 12 x12 x 2 inches.

FACE MASK SERIES

I found nice and cute little wooden frame at store, and came up with this idea right away.

Attached black painted canvas and painted face mask. Weird and a little bit scary.

8 x 6 x 2 inches 13 oz. available in green and yellow ochre.

ANIMAL/HUMAN SERIES

I had so much fun making those guys. The idea on my sketch book was very simple.

My husband recommended me to go for it

even though I thought it was too simple at the beginning. I used very light paper clay for those objects so those guys are very light (4.8oz) Every time I look at their faces, make me laugh. Both already sold.

PUPPET SERIES ( PUNKY, BOO and JIRO)

When I started sketching for new art object series, those guys are the first ones that I came up with ideas. I don't have a sewing machine so, their punky clothes are hand sewn which I don't normally do... I didn't know that it is very difficult to sew canvas material, I regretted the choice of the material, but those thick canvas gives interesting and unique stiff texture and light wrinkles to the surface so I'm happy the result.

NO ONE Jr. SERIES (Cream and Black)

I really appreciate that many people visited my shop to take a look at original "NO ONE" art object. I know that it is expensive somehow, but the process took almost a week and size is not small.

So I decided to make mini version of it.

8 x 8 x 5 inches 12.5 oz. There are spike details on their backs as well.

...And also new small paintings are added to my shop. Please take a look!

Here is a picture of my messy studio trying to make those objects.

The process takes time and confusing sometimes. I forget what series I was working.

OK, That is it for this month.

Thank you for visiting my shop.

Thank you for your time to take a look at my art works.

Wish you all the best and health.

PEACE!
